Firefox 5 has significantly improved the speed of web-related tasks, such as loading pages with combo boxes or MathML. Firefox 5 is the first release in Mozilla's new rapid release plan, matching Google Chrome's rapid release schedule and rapid version number increments. Firefox 5 through 9įirefox 5 was released on June 21, 2011, three months after the major release of Firefox 4. This accelerated release cycle was met with criticism by users, as it often broke add-on compatibility, as well as those who believe Firefox was simply trying to increase its version number to compare with other browsers such as Google Chrome. The stated aim of this faster-paced process is to get new features to users faster. Gecko version numbering is the same as the Firefox build version number, starting with 5.0 on Firefox 5. "Release" is the current official version of Firefox. The "Beta" channel provides improved stability over the "Nightly" builds and is the first development milestone that has the "Firefox" logo. The "Beta" channel is up to six weeks behind the "Aurora" build, for up to about twelve weeks compared to the most recent "Nightly" build. As of version 35, the "Aurora" channel has been renamed to the "Developer Edition" channel. The "Aurora" build is up to six weeks behind "Nightly" and offers functionality that has undergone basic testing. The most recent available build is called "Nightly Builds" and offers the latest, untested features and updates. In April 2011, the development process was split into several "channels", each working on a build in a different stage of development.
#HOW TO DOWNLOAD OLD VERSION OF FIREFOX FOR WINDOWS 7 UPDATE#
I will update if I get around to testing with the ODT as this is only for a limited number of workstations so we may just manually run the commands after build with a script.Main article: Firefox early version history Rapid releases 2152 (the monthly release) and it downgraded with no issues so hopefully using the ODT to download and deploy will work. I haven't tried to package up yet but suspect this is the issue. This worked correctly and downgraded to the required version. This still didn't work but I updated the version number to use the Semi-Annual release version found here:
Run Command: OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user updatetoversion=.2432.Run Command: OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user.Run Command: OfficeC2RClient.exe /changesetting Channel=Broad.Browse to: %programfiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun.They suggested from the Command Prompt locally with the following commands: Log files suggest it can't find the file to download on MS Servers.įirstly is it possible to download older no longer supported versions of Office 365 such as 1803 and if so what's the right process for doing so?ĮDIT: So after some back and forwards with MS it turns out you CAN downgrade to a previous version. I've edited the xml file to request 1803 with Version=".2152" however it fails when running. Not ideal but the user has accepted the risk. I need to download version 1803 for one machine due to compatibility issues with a business app. I have the ODT and have used it to download the newest version with no issues.
